Dick Mulvihill Lifetime Achievement in Gymnastics Award

Our co-founder and Coach Emeritus, Dick Mulvihill, has recently been honored with having an important gymnastics award named after him.

The Dick Mulvihill Lifetime Achievement in Gymnastics Award

Criteria for nomination to receive this award include:

Twenty years experience Coaching or Judging in Region 2
Development of Athletes who Qualify to any level of the USA Elite Gymnastics program.
Training of Athletes who represent the USA in International Competition.
Contribution through seminar or clinic to the Education of Region 2 Gymnastics Professionals.
Mentorship of Region 2 Gymnastics Professionals.

It is only fitting that Dick is also the first recipient of this award!

Dick came to Region 2 in the early 70's and coached successfully at every USA Gymnastics level. He has personally trained more than 15 Olympians from around the world during a coaching career which spans forty years. He has influenced hundreds of coaches in Region 2 and around the country with his innovative pad drill book and video series. As a contributor to the Region, Dick is peerless. He provided seminars at Region 2 Congress for many years and trained numberous staff members at the world renowned National Academy of Artistic Gymnastics, who have provided seminars at Region 2 congress as well.

Dick has been an innovator of skills and a tireless gymnastics instructor. His athletes have strived to reach their fullest potential and many have achieved Olympic, World Championship, Pan American Game and Goodwill Games gymnastics success.

Dick is an inspiration to us all.
